Starting roughly 1,000 m east of the Lifepod — en route into deep Karakorum — the Red Grass Mesa is a dense, narrow biome defined by strong currents and flowing red grass.
It is explicitly a strong second-base location for players pushing into the eastern region, providing a Salt source and the Improved Fins Diagrams upgrade. The currents and Needler Mango presence give it moderate danger, but it functions mainly as a staging / forward-operations zone for the deeper Alien Ruins and Power Plant content.
