Creatures
Subnautica 2's Early Access build ships dozens of creature archetypes across a threat ladder — from harmless scannable fauna up to the Titan-class World Tree. The species below are the confirmed, named highlights of that roster.
Threat Tiers
- Titan
- Beyond Leviathan scale — structural, story-critical (the World Tree).
- Leviathan
- Apex megafauna. Can end a run; many can one-shot.
- Alpha Predator
- Oversized variants — the dominant hunters of the mid zones.
- Carnivore
- Mid-size aggressive hunters.
- Herbivore
- Grazing, non-hostile fauna — the base of the food chain.
Titan (1)
Leviathan (4)
Collector Leviathan
An enormous octopus-bodied predator — the largest free-swimming fish in the game — that pursues the moment it spots you.
Shiver Leviathan
A pack-hunting Leviathan with a protruding bone skull and bladed fins; lethal in the open Void.
Great Jaw
Nicknamed "Clamthulu" — an ambush Leviathan that snares prey with trap wires, then digests it in gastric acid.
Deepwing Brooder
A flock-dwelling Leviathan that swarms from above and seeds the water with egg-like blobs.
Alpha Predator (2)
Predator (4)
Twin Sitaray
An always-paired deep-sea electropredator that hunts with coordinated shock attacks and a rising-pitch warning call.
Cerathecan
A shrimp-derived organism that pilots a double-valved shell, hunting small creatures and grazing detritus.
Sandspear
A large ambush crustacean buried in canyon sand that bursts out to hunt the player and smaller fauna.
Bullethead
An armour-plated swarm squid that rams tail-first hard enough to punch into titanium, then latches on to drain health.
Carnivore (3)
Surge Jelly
A large electrically-charged jelly whose discharges of 400–1000 volts are lethal to an unprotected diver.
Epicurean
A large Hammerhead relative whose Tongue-Thief infestation turns it into a starving, hyper-aggressive feeding machine.
Houndgar
A small squid-like predator that hunts as the "spotter" for the much larger Marrowbreach.
